Jane worked for much of her career developing and implementing public policy for the Scottish Government and its predecessors. In doing so, she focused mainly on economic development issues, but also had the opportunity to lead the implementation of Scotland’s first childcare strategy and development of its Sure Start approach. From 2008 to 2012, Jane was Director of the Scottish Universities Insight Institute, promoting knowledge exchange between academics and policy makers. She remains committed to this and to building understanding of the development of public policy. Jane is also a member of the Court of the University of Strathclyde.
Jane sits on the Improvement Audit and Risk Committee.
